Course Overview

This course provides expert advice on management of complex bariatric surgical cases including revisional surgery and also provides information on some of the latest emerging technologies in bariatric surgery. Emerging concepts include sleeve gastrectomy as a primary weight loss operation and the role of metabolic surgery in the non-morbidly obese. Emerging technologies include the use of single laparoscopic incision transabdominal gastric banding and natural orifice transumbilical surgery (NOTUS) - sleeve gastrectomy. These emerging techniques are presented as an even less invasive surgical option that can be performed with a relatively short learning curve. These emerging concepts and advances in bariatric surgery will be sure to stimulate audience discussion and interaction. This course will take the form of video-based education by providing the participants with extensive video images from world-renowned experts in the field of bariatric surgery.
